Shot of Scotch Vancouver is a non-profit organization that combines innovative performances, lifelong dancing, and emotional connections to bring communities together through performance, education and art.

PERFORMANCE HIGHLIGHTS

From Scottish cèilidhs to community festivals to international performances, our premier dance company always impresses and inspires.

Wilt Thou Go | 2022
The Apr 29, 2022 showing of “Wilt Thou Go” at The Dance Centre in Vancouver, BC was the culmination of over 2 years of research and creation work on Shot of Scotch Vancouver’s first full-length show. It investigates the Jacobite legends attached to traditional Highland dances and the ways in which these stories impact our current Highland dance practice.

Highland Dance Tattoo | 2017
Shot of Scotch Vancouver travelled to Nanchang, China with the Vancouver Police Pipe Band Sep 20-30, 2017 to participate in the 5th International Nanchang Military Tattoo. The set includes a well known Chinese folk song "Jasmine Flower" that many of the audience sang along to.

Crooked Fire | 2019
In 2019, Shot of Scotch Vancouver collaborated with jazz choreographer Alexis Whatley and Wee Beastie Productions to push our traditional boundaries, creating “Crooked Fire,” our sassy take on the Skerryvore tune.

Highland Feet | 2015
“Highland Feet” was part of the Shot of Scotch Body Music Suite - a project created and choreographed in 2015 by Artistic Director Susan Nase using only music made with the body (voice, feet, hands) for accompaniment. The entire suite was later performed at the International Body Music Festival in Paris in Oct 2016.
