Spring Has Sprung

Spring has Sprung in New York and Vancouver! Both groups of Shot of Scotch have been busy practicing our dancing toes off for lots of exciting events and performances!
Shot of Scotch New York
Just finished filming for the 2015 FUSTA Choreography Project! Filming took place at Brooklyn Bridge Park, New York and we can not wait to see the final cut! The video will be out this summer and is set to the tune of "Everybody Dance Now" performed by the fabulous Red Hot Chili Pipers!

Special thanks to FUSTA for the opportunity to be involved in their choreography project this year!
Shot of Scotch Vancouver
Joined the RCMP 'E' Division Pipes & Drums at their Fundraiser and Gala for Tartan Day celebrations. We performed our longest and most diverse set yet which included live music from our talented dancers as well as both traditional and contemporary choreographies. Stay tuned for some videos of the night!

We would also like to welcome two new members to our team - Meredith Miller and Mairi Macfarlane!

Quote of the month:
“We should consider every day lost on which we have not danced at least once.”

Dancer of the Month - Carlie Campbell

SoS Title: Dancer

Hometown: Kansas City, Missouri

Real Life ID: Middle School teacher

Started Dancing: Age 5

Carlie started dancing when she was 5 years old. She attended a Highland Games with her family, and enjoyed watching the dance competition. After the games, her parents asked her if she would rather start gymnastics, ballet, or Highland Dance lessons, and the rest is history! She continued performing and competing through high school and college.

After graduating in 2013, Carlie moved to New York to teach as part of a volunteer program. She has been living and teaching in the Crown Heights neighbourhood of Brooklyn since then. She was excited to learn about Shot of Scotch NYC through a friend in New York and has thoroughly enjoyed practicing and performing with them over the past few months. In the fall,Carlie is moving back to Kansas City to continue working in education. She plans to continue dancing, and maybe even start competing again, thanks to Shot of Scotch!
