Our Artistic Director Susan Nase is packing her bags again! She is thrilled to have been invited to Santiago, Chile next week to teach workshops and adjudicate at the 7th South American Pipe Band Gathering! There are 12 bands from Chile, Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay participating in the event. At this gathering, unlike a traditional (SOBHD) highland dance completion the dancers will join the pipe band as full members - much like our recent collaborations with the Vancouver Pipe Band. The dancers have created choreography to match the music played by the band and will be judged on this performance rather than on traditional dances. The event runs for several intense days of workshops, performance, competition and finishes with a massed bands. The enthusiasm and excitement around this event by the bands in South America is contagious. We can't wait to see what they're working on!
We're back from China (has it already been a month now?!) and what an adventure we went on with the Vancouver Police Pipe Band!! 8 Shot of Scotch Vancouver dancers joined 28 members of the pipe band on this 10 day trip to perform at the 5th China Nanchang International Military Tattoo in September 2017!
We were kept extremely busy, performing in two stadium shows, three community shows, as well as participating in a parade, the opening and closing ceremonies. Our choreography to "Jasmine Flower" a very popular Chinese folk tune was particularly well received everywhere we went. We were extremely proud to represent Canada and Scottish culture amongst a gathering of twelve elite military bands and performing groups from across the globe. We are thrilled to have had this opportunity with the Vancouver Police Pipe Band and are already scheming up more projects, dances and adventures with them to come! A heartfelt thank you to all of our supporters, family and friends that helped make this trip possilbe!
It's time for another Whisky Fling!! Once again, we'll be taking over Shebeen Whiskey House (the back room of the Irish Heather) to celebrate all things Scottish! Join us again for a mid-week evening of fun, friends and whisky (or your drink of choice!)

Our bags are packed... we leave in just over a week!!
